In 2020, to celebrate Kim Seokjin’s and Kim Taehyung’s birthdays, we brought
you the Winter Moon Charity Project in partnership with Medical Teams International. Thanks to your donations, $2099 USD was raised to provide medical care to those most in need globally including those affected by COVID-19.
2021 has continued to be a difficult year. The COVID-19 pandemic is still
affecting the lives of everyone everywhere. From your fellow ARMYs to the elderly
most vulnerable to this disease, many have continued to struggle with social
isolation. Even with advances in technology and social media bringing us all
together, there is still something special about a handwritten letter or card or a physical gift specially picked out by someone thinking about you and hoping to send you positivity.
we present to you Winter Angels.
“Where’s my angel?” (Blue and Grey, BTS). We challenge you, ARMY, to be
someone’s Winter Angel. Help us spread some positivity and cheer as we wrap up 2021. You can participate in our MANITO: The Secret ARMY Gift &/or Letter
Exchange or send some letters to the elderly to brighten someone’s day. Manito comes from the word brother or friend. In Korea, Manito is the name of a game in which
a member of the group becomes someone’s secret friend, helping that friend and
giving them a gift secretly. It is like Secret Santa and has been referenced in RUN BTS.
The BTS Army is a loving and joyful fandom. We are excited for all of you
becoming Winter Angels to spread kindness and positivity this winter.
